Hours & Admission


Admission to the historic site requires a ticket, which may be purchased at the Ticket Booth upon arrival.  Admission includes access to the exhibits:"Slavery at Oak Alley", Civil War Encampment, the "Big House", the Blacksmith Shop, Sugarcane Theater and additional highlighted points of interest on the 28 historic acres.

Hours of Operations:
9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. daily
Visit Duration: Minimum 2 hours
**Must arrive by 4:45 pm to visit the "Big House" exhibit and recommended to arrive by 3:30 pm to explore all other exhibits, as well, before they close.

Special note regarding the "Big House" exhibit: Guided visits begin at 9:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. with groups of up to 40 depending on the number of visitors. Second floor is not handicap accessible, an iPad video is available for viewing second floor tour. All other exhibits open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m.

Open daily except New Year's Day, Mardi Gras Tuesday,  Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Getting to Oak Alley Plantation

If you will have your own vehicle or plan to rent a vehicle to drive out to Oak Alley Plantation, click here to see a map and directions.  If not, there are several sightseeing companies out of New Orleans that offer transportation services.  

** Please be advised that since Uber availabilty in Oak Alley's area is not currently available, it is advised that you find another means of transportation.    Oak Alley Plantation is not responsible for getting you to your next destination if you arrive by Uber.
